Educational qualification required:


1.Data Entry Operator:

(i). All the Candidates of Calcutta High Court recruitment 2021 must have passed the Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent from a Government recognized Board or Institution.

(ii) Must have passed a one-year Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized institution.

(iii) Must possess a speed of not less than 8000 key depressions per hour.


Note: 1 – Candidate experienced in data entry job shall be given preference at the appropriate stage of this recruitment process.

Note: 2 –A candidate possessing a Bachelor Degree from a recognized University with Diploma in Computer Application from an institute recognized by any University or AICTE shall be given preference at the appropriate stage of this recruitment process.

Note : 3– Candidate having a degree in Computer Application from any University or any Government recognized Institution may also apply, subject to his/her undertaking as provided in the online application form.

Mode of Selection:

The Candidates of Calcutta High Court recruitment 2021 shall undergo –

Phase- I: A competitive test on (i) Computer proficiency (ii) General Knowledge (iii) Mathematics and (iv) English language. This test will be OMR based/Computer Based Test (CBT). There will be 50 (fifty) questions each having 02 (two) marks. Total marks would be 100 (hundred).

There will be 02 (two) marks for each right answer, while 01 (one) mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. The duration of the Phase- I examination will be of one (01) hour. The pass-mark of Phase-I examination will be 40 (forty) marks.

The marks obtained in the Phase-I examination would not be carried forward in the subsequent phases.

Phase- II: Successful candidates of the Phase-I examination will be required to undergo a data entry speed test (key depression test). Total marks of key depression test will be 400 (four hundred).

Phase- III: Shortlisted candidates of the Phase-II examination will be called for Interview/Viva-voce. The total marks of Interview/Viva-voce would be 100 (hundred).

The competitive test may be taken in such manner as the Appointing Authority may decide from time to time. After the entire selection process, a merit list including a list of selected candidates along with a waiting list would be published.

This waiting list will not exceed 10% of the declared vacancies (valid for one year from the date of publication or such period, as the Appointing Authority may decide) of the successful candidates would be published in accordance with the existing vacancies.

2.System Analyst (Programming):


(i) Must have passed Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a Master’s Degree in Computer Application from a recognized University or its equivalent qualification.

(ii) Must possess a minimum of five years’ working experience in the field of programming/software development in any Public Sector Undertaking or Government or statutory body or in any Company, registered under the Companies Act.

Mode of Selection:

The Candidates of Calcutta High Court recruitment 2021 shall undergo a competitive test and viva-voice in such manner as the Appointing Authority may decide from time to time.

Total marks for the written competitive test would be 200 (two hundred). Candidates securing 60% or above shall be called for an Interview/Viva-voce test of 50 (fifty) marks.

The duration of the written competitive test would be 02 (two) hours. The Competitive test shall be on computer programming and on such topics as C, OOPs, HTML, Data Structures and Algorithms DBMS, Software Engineering, Computer Networks, Operating systems, Software Tools and Techniques.

3.Senior Programmer:

(ii) Must possess ten years’ working experience in the field of programming/software package customization with special knowledge in Operating System (Windows, Linux, Mac, OS, RDBMS like ORACLE, SQL, Server etc.) as well as working experience in any Public Sector Undertaking or Government or statutory body or in any Company, registered under the Companies Act.

Important Notes for filling up online application for Calcutta High Court Recruitment 2021:

a. On successful online submission of application, a unique application registration number (ARN) will be allotted to each applicant, which is to be used by the candidate as his/her Username/Login-id for further login. The date of birth of the candidate will be his/her password;

b. Online edit option shall be provided to take care of mistakes made by candidates and the candidates shall be prompted to modify the same, if required, before final submission of the applications;

c. The online submission of the application shall close at 23:59 hours (midnight) on the last date fixed for online submission of application;

  1. Click on the “New Registration” button in the online portal of Calcutta High Court, after reading carefully the “Notification” and ensuring that you are eligible to apply.
  1. On clicking the “New Registration” button, the candidate will be taken to the registration page where you need to fill in the concerned details.
  2. Enter the basic details like Name, father’s name or husband’s name, mother’s name, gender, marital status, date of birth, category, Nationality, Aadhaar number in the respective fields provided. The candidates belonging to a State other than West Bengal will be considered only as UR (unreserved) candidates and no relaxations will be applicable.
  3. Choose the appropriate options in the fields asking about, (i) Exempted
    category, (ii) Meritorious Sportsperson,(iii) PWD, (iv), Ex-Serviceman
    and (v) Government Employee. If belonging to Exempted or Ex-serviceman categories, the Employment Exchange details should be provided.
  4. For sponsored candidates, it is mandatory to submit the documents relating to sponsorship during the time of verification of documents.
  5. PWD candidates should select the type of disability and scribe facility can be availed for Visually Handicapped candidates and candidates having Loco Motor Disability or Cerebral Palsy.
  6. Must have knowledge in the vernacular of the State is mandatory. Knowledge of reading and writing in both English and Bengali is mandatory.
  7. Candidates are requested to choose their preferred examination center from the list of options provided in the dropdown list. The communication details such as Permanent address, correspondence address with State name and PIN-code, Mobile numbers, and Email ID should be entered by the candidate in the respective fields.
  8. Finally, candidates must provide educational details as required. The candidate must have passed Class X and XII.
  9. A final declaration is to be checked on confirmation about the details entered above are valid and correct to the best of the candidate’s knowledge.
  10. On completion of the registration stage, a unique registration number will be generated, which shall be used along with the date of birth (DOB) for all further representations and login purposes.
  11. The candidate should click the “Sign In for Existing User” button in the portal, and then will be redirected to the Payment Stage where all the candidates need to pay application fees.
  12. After successful offline payment of application fees, it takes a maximum of 48 hours for verification of payment and only then the candidate shall proceed to the next stage.
  13. Once the payment gets verified, it is mandatory for all the candidates to upload the photo and signature with the prescribed specifications, as mentioned.
  14. On submission of all the details and documents, the online application shall be submitted and a printout of the application can be obtained for future reference.
